The Plains Soapweed is a dominant Yucca species in much of the central to northern plains of the US. It is the most cold-hardy of the Yuccas tolerating temperatures to well below -50 F. This selection has very blue leaves with a distinct white edge. Leaves are 12-18" long and the greenish-white flowers with red brush marks are densely set on 36" high spikes in June/July. Zone 3. The flower buds are edible and tasty. Sold in 2.5" pot.
