There's nothing prettier than a Christmas Tree Cholla in full fruit! This form from David Salman's personal collection has virtually no spines making it very user-friendly. Hardy to zones 5/6. Plant with another leptocaulis strain such as OP024 or OP118 to ensure cross-pollination for heavy fruit-set.
The slender, twiggy stems make a wonderful architectural addition to the desert garden. Fascinating green blossoms in June are followed by abundant red berries all winter. 24-48 inches tall and wide. Sold in a 2.5-inch pot.
Photo is of the spined form. New photos to follow.
