'New Castle' is one of the Western Colorado fragilis hybrids—creamy white flowers with glowing golden centers in June.  This group is much misunderstood and loves to drive us nuts!  The beautiful "new potato"-sized pads are adorned and well armored with needle-like, golden spines.  The plant is very compact and is COVERED with flowers.  Extremely hardy at zone 3.  4" High x 12" Wide.  Sold in 2.5-inch pots.  This makes a beautiful ground cover around coarser plants.  Excellent in pots also.
