From the amazing trichophora populations south of Santa Fe, NM.  This wonderfully compact form has soft, wooly spines that are pinkish on new growth.  The dense, compact habit makes it a great and polite garden subject.  The delicate yellow flowers turn baby-pink the second day.  A mature plant will be COVERED in numerous shades of yellow and pink flowers...stunning!  Try it in a patio pot!  8" high x 24" wide.  Zone 4.  Sold as rooted pad in 2.5" Pots.
