I would have to say that this plant from Don Campbell in Grand Junction, CO took my breath away when I first saw it. The enormous pads covered with short spines sport big, gorgeous, watermelon colored flowers in June. Slender, reddish fruit in September. Thought to be a John Cipra hybrid. 12" high by 60" wide. Thrives through zone 5. Sold as rooted pad in 2.5" Pots.
