A grand form of Claret Cup Cactus with scarlet flowers in June. One of the tallest of the triglochidiatus forms. 12-18" high by 18" wide. Thrives from zones 5-10. The plant forms a large clump quickly. ALAMOGORDO FORM will generally have darker, shorter, and more closely hugging spines than WHITE SANDS FORM. A mature plant will have 40 or 50 blossoms that last for several weeks. Large, juicy, edible fruits that gain an orange hue when ripe. Sold in 2.5-inch pot.
