A Patagonian opuntiad. Small cholla-like stems. 2" high by 18" wide. Shaggy spines on finger-sized stems. Forms a BEAUTIFUL, flat pancake ground cover. Small white to pale-yellow flowers in June. Zone 5. Prefers and tolerates more moisture than most opuntiads.
2"H X 18"W. Grows at very high altitudes of above 1500 m in extremely xeric regions of Patagonia mainly in volcanic ash fields in subalpine forests, thin grassland, and stony plateaus. Sold in 2.5" pot.
