Deep pink flowers in June on a beautiful, dwarf cushion, very choice. Plump, round pads. No spines, tiny glochids. 4" high by 18" wide. Zone 3. Excellent in outdoor containers. (Claude Barr selection, Canada?) Dry fruit. Sold as rooted, 2.5" potted plant or unrooted cuttings (when available.)
A vigorous strain with internode growth twice the size of the Colorado strain. Very thick stems. Magenta flowers. This plant crests (fasciates) readily. 72" high and wide. Zone 5. Susceptible to damage by heavy snow. Believed to be from West Texas. Sold as unrooted cutting. Now sold in 2.5" pot.
Selected near Santa Fe, NM by Allan Taylor. Stems much redder in the winter than the species. It's a beautiful, robust variety that is more upright than other strains. Flower color is a lighter pink than other imbricatas. 60" high by 72" wide. Zone 5. Sold in a 2.5-inch pot or unrooted cuttings (when available.)
